The answer to that question depends on how you experienced this past year of 2020. And we know how the story ends. The year is not over yet. I am glad that Christmas is here. It's a time to spend with our loved ones, a time to catch our breath and look forward to the future.
This year...
Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more! "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
-Dr. Seuss' book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
One lesson I learned this year from a personal and financial perspective is that we are better off keeping our internal peace, whatever the storm looks like externally. The stock market dipped some 35% in March to quickly recover within two months, and now it's at an all-time high as I am writing this. Yet, this year is not about the stock market that benefits those who Haves. The Have Nots are the ones who suffered most this year.

The good news...
Then, just when I thought I could stand it no more, By chance I discovered a tiny trap door! I popped my head out. The great sky was sky-blue And I knew, from the flowers, I'd finally come through To the banks of the beautiful River Wah-Hoo!
-Dr. Seuss' book I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew
Indeed, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Find the tiny trap door and you will see the light. Pop your head out and you will see the great blue sky! Keep fighting is what I encourage you to do. Life is a battle. You have to commit to fighting until the very end. From a personal financial perspective, it means that you remain patient and you stick to a long-term strategy that will keep your finances on the right track.
And always remember...
And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.) KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
-Dr. Seuss' book Oh, the Places You'll Go!
Yes, you will succeed as long as you persevere, get back up when you fall, dust yourself off, and keep going. Take the time to recover from this past year, and I hope, like the Grinch you...
Open your heart...
And what happened then...? Well... in Who-ville they say That the Grinch's small heart Grew three sizes that day!
-Dr. Seuss' book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
Plan to spend a special holiday season with your loved ones, the closest ones in your bubble. They are the ones you live for. Be your best self, be present for them and for yourself. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
